League of Kingdoms NFT Game: Overview

League of Kingdoms is the NFT MMO strategy game pioneer. It  introduced real-time strategy to the world of NFT gaming. Before its release, blockchain games were dominated by turn-based games, card games, and role-playing games (RPG). LoK gave NFT gamers a fresh experience by incorporating blockchain and play-to-earn features to RTS gaming.

LoK also has an impressive 3D graphic design, far from the usual 2D design of popular NFT games such as Mir M and Axie Infinity: Origins,

Let’s now proceed to LoK’s gameplay. There are three points you must focus on to strive in LoK:

  • Develop your kingdom by gathering resources

Building a powerful kingdom is the central goal of League of Kingdoms. However, you must have sufficient resources to achieve it. To do this, you must construct farms, quarries, lumber mills, and gold mines. It’s necessary as well to upgrade your City Hall since it increases your maximum resource gather and troop limit.

  • Create your army by training troops and attack kingdoms and other monsters

Building a superior army is also important in Lok. You can train troops by building a barracks. Your troops can either guard your kingdom or assault monsters or other kingdoms.

  • Strengthen your kingdom’s defenses against enemy attacks

Since LoK focused on clashing kingdoms, expect that there will be attacks against your precious kingdom. Hence, defending it is extremely necessary. Building and upgrading walls improves your defenses.

You might have noticed that Lok’s gameplay is parallel to that of Rise of Kingdoms and Clash of Clans. If you have already played these games, then it will not be too difficult for you to master this game.

Your initial kingdom has two major divisions – the interior castle and the outer fields

You can build seven types of buildings or facilities in the interior castle. These are:

  • Castle – the control center of your kingdom, determines your kingdom’s level.
  • Academy – fosters research and advancement of new knowledge and skills
  • Trading Post – serves as place to shop / marketplace, caravans arrive here for rare goods
  • Storage – use to store and protect resources gathered
  • Hospital – cures and heals wounded troops
  • Treasure house – manages treasures and wealth acquired
  • Hall of Alliance – manages your alliances with other players.

Meanwhile, here are the buildings you can construct in the outer field:

  • Barrack – train your troops to build an army
  • Farm – gathers food
  • Lumber Camp – gathers wood
  • Quarry – produces stones
  • Gold Mines – gather golds

Deciding where to build these locations is crucial in this game so don’t just put them randomly. The resources you will gather are required to train your troops and purchase other items. You can also upgrade these buildings to increase their resource gathering capability. However, some upgrades have prerequisites that you need to satisfy.

Your castle is the most important building in terms of your kingdom’s development and production advancement. Make sure to upgrade it regularly to boost your game performance.

Training your troops is essential in defending your kingdom and in doing attacks against other kingdoms.

To gain some rewards, accomplish game quests. Just click “Quest” at the bottom of your screen to see available quests for you. Once you’ve done a quest, just click “Claim” to reap your rewards.

You also need to collect or harvest resources generated by your farms, lumber camps, gold mines, etc. There will be a pop-up icon indicating that the resource is ready to be picked.

Once you feel that you’re ready to fight against some monsters and earn some tasty rewards. Click “Field” in the bottom right portion of your screen. This transfers you to a vast area filled with monsters and other foes. Make sure to check first the indicated level to ensure that the monsters will not crush you because you’re too weak yet.

To attack a monster, just click it and press the “Attack” button.

This is also the same method when attacking and pillaging opponents’ bases. When your target is far from your kingdom, your troops have to march first which might take several minutes before the actual battle starts. .

Every time you face monsters or assault kingdoms, you can view the results and other related information under the “Messages” icon.

After you’ve joined the game, you have a 72-hour immunity from opponent raids and attacks. Therefore, use this “grace period” to learn the game and master its basic mechanics. Wander around the game’s interface so that you’ll be familiar with it. Furthermore, it’s advisable to join an alliance that will assist you in attacking and defending your kingdom.

Remember that there are five types of resources you need to gather to ace the game:

  • Food
  • Lumber (or Wood)
  • Stone
  • Gold
  • Crystals

The first four resources are generated by your buildings (i.e. farms, lumber camps, etc.) but Crystals can be produced only via in-game events  You can also mine them through Crystal Mines that are scattered in the field outside your kingdom. Each crystal mine has four levels: Level 1 gives 50 crystals, Level 2 gives 100 crystals, Level 3 gives 200 crystals, and Level 4 gives 300 crystals.

Note that attacking monsters also rewards you some additional resources. The amount that you can get depends on the monster classification and level. In general, here are the rewards from defeating monsters:

  • Orcs: Food
  • Stone Golems: Stone
  • Treasure Goblins: Gold
