The most anticipated South Korean MMORPG from Wemade is finally available to the public, MIR M: Vanguard and Vagabond made its official global launch last January 31, 2023 to more than 170 countries. This game is the official sequel to “MIR 4”, the pioneer Korean P&E MMORPG that sets the trend for Korean Video gaming with a large player base around the world.

What is MIR M: Vanguard and Vagabond?

Made by the South Korean video game developer, Wemade, MIR M: Vanguard and Vagabond (MIR M) sits as the largest and pioneer play and earn (P&E) Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG). This game adapts the classic MMORPG features we are all familiar with such as its eight-way  directional grid movements, isometric features, and distinct art design. Its premise is straightforward: pick a character, explore the MIR M diverse world, exploit in-game currencies, and fight adversaries along the way. Its expansive lore, fleshed-out character classes, and addictive gameplay will surely put MIR M beginners on the edge of their seats.

MIR M is the successor of Wemade’s MIR 4, one of the first P&E MMORPG in the gaming industry. Basically, features from MIR 4 are transplanted to MIR M as the latter integrates new P&E features for the users.

What are the Character Roles and Classes in MIR M?

Every MIR M beginner must assume either of the two roles below:

Vanguards: These are the fierceful and cunning warriors of the Mir continent. They lead the battlefield as rulers of the highest rank. They stand fearlessly in the frontlines

Vagabonds: They are the gatherers, artisans, miners, fishers, and merchants of the continent. They are, in general, the craftsmen who are responsible as the backbone of the economy.

On the other hand, there are three character classes you can choose in the game: Warrior, Sorcerer, and Taoist.

Warrior – They inflict the most damage to enemies as they wield the weapons of destruction and onslaught. Warriors are melee fighters with unmatchable endurance . They also have crowd-control (CC) abilities that can immobilize multiple enemies. Players who want to take the challenge and lead the frontlines will have a great time assuming the role of a warrior.

Sorcerer – These characters use magic to wield the elemental powers of ice, fire, and lightning. They are the most lethal class in the game so it is important that sorcerer players will be tactical and strategic to maximize their character abilities. Sorcerers get stronger as they acquire more skills so you have to spend time training them.

Although sorcerers inflict the greatest damage to their opponents, they are squishy and vulnerable due to their low defense stats.

Taoist – Taoist acts as the support units of the game as they provide buffs to their allies and debuffs to the enemies as they summon “Nachals”. Although they are not the best in terms of offense, Taoists can make the difference as they heal and revive their fallen allies to continue fighting in the battlefield.

What are MIR M Game Tokens?

There are two game tokens that every MIR M beginner should be familiar with: DOGMA and DRONE. DOGMA is the governance token of MIR M. This token allows players to take part in the developer’s decision-making process. This also allows the players to be part of the game’s Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) which consists of the developers, investors, governing players, and of course, the MIR M gamers. Essentially, ownership of DOGMA units entitles you to participate in MIR M major contents.

On the other hand, DRONE is the base token of MIR M. This is what you need to “smelt” (or create) units of DOGMA. You can obtain DRONE tokens by converting Darksteel, in-game resources that allow players to progress. To smelt (or create) DOGMA, you need to stake DRONE and HYDRA (another MIR M in-game token).

Aside from the tokens above, there are more MIR M currencies you need to know such as:

  • Gold: currency for shop purchase,  market, and street stall.
  • Copper: published from Bicheon Castle, used to purchase items or crafting equipment.
  • Darksteel: can be obtained from mines, use in crafting and enchantment
  • Raid Token: can be obtained from killing strong monsters, use to acquire mileage
  • Mileage: use to purchase various items in Wayfarer shop

How to understand MIR M Interface?

In this section, you will learn the game interface of MIR M. Shown below is the MIR M main game display:

WEMADE Global YouTube Channel

The interface might be confusing to a MIR M beginner but it becomes more intuitive as you play more. Shown in the screen’s top left portion is your character’s level as well as its damage score. Clicking it allows you to see more details about your character’s attributes as well your accumulated resources.

Looking at your right-hand portion , you will see the minimap where you can track your character location as well as other game elements.

Above the minimap you can see the current channels. You can change this to hunt monsters that are available only in specific channels. You can also take advantage of this changing channel feature to explore channels with less players roaming to fight more monsters.

At the lower part of your screen is your character’s HP and MP interface. There’s also the slots’ interface where you can put your items and other consumables.

Once you’re familiar with the interface, you can start exploring your immediate environment which is the Bicheon area and look for farming spots where you can acquire some exp. You can also try exploring the Illusory Mystic Realm that enables players to grow fast and acquire resource drops. However, this realm is available only for a limited time so make the best out of it.

How to fight and move in MIR M?

Attacking monsters and opponents is the most crucial skill that every Dragonian must master. To do basic attacks, just hit the “Sword” button on the lower right portion of the screen. Note that basic attacks only apply if your character is near to the target.

You may also opt to activate Auto Mode so your character automatically scans the area, fights enemies, and even collects resources around the area. The Auto Mode is customizable where you can turn on or off several options. To do this, go to the game’s menu, proceed to “Settings”, and select “Combat”.

If you are using a mobile device, there’s a button on the lower left portion that allows you to control your character’s movement. This button is similar to popular MOBA games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and League of Legends: Wildrift.

For PC players, use your keyboard’s arrow keys to move your character.

There are also moving points that appear in your screen that you can click so your character will move automatically to that point.

Meanwhile, a character’s skills should be assigned beforehand to employ it in the battlefield. To do this, go to MENU > SKILL > EQUIP  SKILL. You can enhance your character’s skills using Skill Tome. Furthermore, as your level progresses in MIR M, your character skills also get stronger.

What are Party Dungeons in MIR M?

Fighting in Mir continent’s party dungeons enables your character to gain more exp, items, and resources. To play this feature, go to the main menu and click “dungeons”.

There are two types of party dungeons in MIR M: Dungeon Raid and Boss Raid. Up to five characters can participate in a Dungeon Raid while a maximum of fifteen (15) characters can participate in a Boss Raid. Both modes have a time limit of 20 minutes.

MIR M beginners must be very cautious in playing this mode because there’s a two-minute deduction every time a character dies in the battle. To succeed in this mode, teamwork and good communication are essential.

You can either create a party or join an existing one to fight in a dungeon. There’s also the auto match feature that allows you to join a random party on the platform.

The Party Dungeon feature is available everyday so don’t miss one if you want to quickly accumulate resources. However, there’s a limit to how many dungeons you can enter so make it worth it.

What are the Quests in MIR M?

MIR M beginners should do daily quests that grant resources and exp which will be helpful in crafting equipment and improving your characters. You can see the quest tab in the upper-left portion of your screen. Click this to automatically proceed to the indicated quest. It is also helpful to read this quest in detail by going through the “Quest” portion of the game menu.

You can also see in the “Quest” tab their status and the rewards that await upon completing them.

Aside from the main quests, there are also sub-quests that grant more reward. However, you must meet specific requirements to do them.

MIR M Mandala System

The Mandala is MIR M’s unique customizable growth specialization system that boosts your character’s combat or profession stats. Every Mandala consists of Spot Points. Each spot point grants specific stats for your character. You can customize these spot points to create a one whole system that you think will suit your character’s abilities and role.

The Combat Mandala improves a character’s combat or offensive attributes through spot points that improves stats on Attack (ATK), Defense (DEF), Health Points (HP), and Mana Points. On the other hand, the Profession Mandala enhances your character’s profession or crafting attributes through spot points that improve stats on Production (e.g. fishing or mining), Smithing, Alchemy, and more.

To activate Mandala Spot Points, you need Dragon Orbs (for Combat Mandala) or Phoenix Orb (for Profession Mandala). There are also spot points that have specific level requirements for different professions or skills before you can unlock them.

Take note also that activation of Mandala Spot Points must be done consecutively. Spot Points at the inner portion of the system should be activated first before you can activate those in the outer portion. As you activate more spot points, unlocking remaining spot points becomes more difficult. Thus, you must be strategic in selecting which spot points you should activate to maximize your Mandala’s potential.

The Mandala System might appear confusing to a MIR M beginner like you but there’s no pressure to focus them too much since it will take a time to learn them. However, keep track of your spot points usage to ensure that the stats you get can actually benefit your character abilities.
