What is Zoids Wild Arena?
Zoids Wild Arena is a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) turn-based trading card game with the mythical universe of the Zoids series as the backdrop.
ZOIDS is a Japanese manga/anime from the TOMY Company Ltd which was launched in 1983. Its main theme is mecha mythological beasts, animals, and dinosaurs that fight against each other to dominate the battlefield.
The developers behind Zoids Wild Arena NFT game (ACT games) utilized the characters and units from the ZOIDS series through trading cards. Players can own their Zoids cards and trade them in the game’s marketplace whenever they want to.
On top of that, Zoids Wild Arena is a P2E blockchain-based game in which a player’s excellent efforts can be an opportunity to earn tokens convertible to fiat currency. The game was initially supported by the Polygon Network but it recently migrated to the Ronin Network.
This game received massive positive reaction from the gaming community, praising its astounding visuals and action-packed combat gameplay. However, some critics also pointed out its repetitive gameplay.
As of this writing, Zoids is supported both on PC and Android devices. For mobile devices, you can download it from Google PlayStore. You can also install it for Windows through this link.
Zoids Wild Arena: Gameplay Guide
Every player in Zoids Wild Arena is called a commander. You will own a deck of 30 cards with each card representing a mecha beast character in the Zoids universe.
The game’s main objective is straightforward – outpower your enemy’s card and crush your opponent’s HP to zero. On the other hand, you’ll lose once your HP becomes 0
Attacking in Zoids is done in turns. Every turn, a player has to lay out cards to attack its opponent. However, setting up your cards in the battlefield requires consumption of energy. At the first turn, you have 1 energy. Your energy increases by 1 every turn until it reaches the maximum limit of 10. If you have insufficient energy, you might be unable to summon some of your cards.
There are two main types of cards in Zoids: Unit Cards and Tactical Cards. We discuss them below
Unit Cards
To summon a Zoids beast, you need a unit card. Every card represents a mech monster and you can see in the card the beast’s star count, ATK stat (always greater than 1), and HP stat.
There are seven slots in the battlefield where you can summon a Zoids beast using a unit card. Note that a unit card will not attack an enemy when you summon them. They can only commence an attack in the succeeding turn.
But if a unit card has a unique skill called “Charge”, it can immediately attack an enemy upon summoning.
This is how Zoid unit cards attack. When you summon a unit card, it will attack a unit located in one of the three slots closest to it.If your enemy’s three slots in the front are empty, the cards will automatically attack the commander. Note that the targeting priority of a card depends on which opponent’s card is in the front, then the one with low HP.
If a Zoids unit HP becomes 0, it will be removed and returned to the deck.

Tactic Cards
Tactic cards act like “spell” or “buff” cards that activate a particular skill indicated in it. Once a tactic card is used, that card is immediately sent to the game’s graveyard. Some of the skill effects of tactic cards include restoring the commander’s HP or boosting ATK state of a unit card.
A good Zoids player knows when to use a tactic card and to which unit card you should apply it to flip the tables and bring home the bacon.
We can’t discuss every tactic card in this article as there’s tons of them. But to give you a glimpse of how these cards work, here are some examples:
- Spideath Support: Automatically summons 3-star Spideath Dusk
- Mind Scan: Duplicate a tactics card lower than or equal to cost of 6 from the opponent’s deck onto hand.
- Regeneration: Obtain two 6-star energy shard onto hand.
- Charge Particle Generator: Deal 8 damage to all ally units and obtain a 4-star charged particle cannon onto hand.
- Secret Business: Duplicate a unit card lower than or equal to cost of 6 from opponent’s deck onto hand.
